I kind of doubt that he de-committed from UCLA. He committed back in July. Mora was fired and Chip Kelly hired.

I like that they explained their methodology:
“Here are a couple of things to know:
How did we come up with our ranking list below? Simple -- it's subjective, there is no way for recruiting rankings to be an exact science -- just ask the college coaches who evaluate the kids and get paid to do it. No matter how official they look, all recruiting rankings are that way. Just ask the myriad of walk ons who come to FCS campuses and become All Americans. We combined 247Sports, Rivals, the players' offer lists and our own thoughts to come up with our version of the FCS recruiting rankings. We provide some of their other top offers in the charts. This is our third year doing this.
We don't include junior college or 4-year school transfers in any of this work. This is strictly incoming high school graduates. Our list of top transfers will come later this year, post spring football.”
I think MSU had one of the top JC and 4-year transfer groups in the nation, too. Be interesting to see that after spring ball.

Either suspect grades or off-the-field trouble would be a good guess for a player rated that highly to end up at Weber State.CelticCat wrote:How the heck did Weber land a 4 star kid who decomitted from UCLA and had plenty of other Pac12 suitors?
Yes, Lillard went to Weber too, but he was severely underrated and underrecruited coming out of HS and he stuck with Weber even after some Pac 12 and MWC programs were making late offers after his senior season. Plus he got his degree while working for it as NBA player, which shows the dedication and loyalty Dame has to those loyal to him.
/Lillard fawning over, but he could be mayor of Portland if he wanted at this point.
Seattle to Billings to Missoula to Bozeman to Portland to Billings

that is pretty sweet. Anytime you are ranked above NDSU, that's a good thing.Hawks86 wrote:https://twitter.com/MSUBobcats/status/966354066426159105

Cooley was only 4-star by Scout. 247, which takes an average, has him at 3-star. Several 3-star players at FCS schools.

247 has him rated at 0.8688 which is quite a gap over Tre Weed in the 247 Big Sky recruit rankings. He's a P5 FBS player who ended up at Weber State for reasons that aren't known at this time. My guess is that Chip must have seen a red flag since he changed his recruiting after the Cliff Harris fiasco at UO, pulled the offer from Cooley, and other schools followed suit leaving him at Weber.iaafan wrote:Cooley was only 4-star by Scout. 247, which takes an average, has him at 3-star.
