That’s a place both Montana schools need to be mining. While I have an absolute hatred of Bellevue high school, the Griz have definitely benefited from having kids that went there end up at Montana. A lot of talent and good football being played in Washington, especially the western side of the state.catgrad05 wrote:wbtfg wrote:Really like this dude. Also pretty cool he’s the son of a former NFL great.

He certainly sounds like he played for Joey “The Jet” Thomas. Now if only he can back it up like Joey did we’ll be onto something.
MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Metcalf was overshadowed by Harrison, who went to Florida State, and that may work out well for MSU. Had it not been for Harrison’s presence Metcalr could’ve been showcased more and perhaps gone PAC-12. I like how he calls 50-50 balls 100 percent balls.

And cousin of a D1 college player who looks like the real deal. And nephew of a backup guard for the Bears. Apparently all Metcalf men are either 5-10 or 6-4.
Assuming I'm the kind of person who doesn't believe that bloodlines mean anything (and that's not exactly a crazy assumption), what are some other reasons to get excited about this kid?

I like Metcalf because he caught 45 passes for 615 yards and he’s 6-4 with good speed and jumping ability. Those numbers aren’t great, but he was the #2 target on a team that had one of the best prep WRs in the nation. If his name wasn’t Metcalf I wouldn’t like him as much tbh, but I think the fact that he just started playing as a freshman means he may be able to develop into a big time player. I don’t consider him a slam dunk player. It’s just interesting that he comes from a football rich family. Bloodlines aren’t always significant.

I do like 6-4 with good speed and jumping ability. Is that speed on film or a stopwatch? (You can add the 40-yard dash to bloodlines on a list of things I don't believe in.)

He doesn’t have great speed or great hops. Good though. Actually his attitude is what I like best. I think he’s going to work hard.

Hard work made Tanner Bleskin MSU's all-time leading receiver. (And it made Caleb Schreibeis a Buck Buchanon award winner.) Nothing wrong with that.
