Agreed that we need to get him on campus ASAP before the dead period, I don’t think drop downs have a signing day. So he could sign/transfer at any time. The MICKSTER wrote:This is a real X-factor for us. We were 12th out of 13th in kick-off returns. Hope we can get him to Bozeman by next Wed!BleedingBLue wrote:

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd want to put my starting quarterback in a position to take a potential brutal and unnecessary hit when others can do the job.Montanabob wrote:should have put Murray and Andersen back there and really shake it up.

Maybe he's still excited about MSU, but was supposed to have waited before tweeting. For what, I don't know. Just an idea.Hawks86 wrote:Looks like he deleted the tweet about the offer.

Re: Zion Echols
I would honestly be pretty surprised to see this guy land at MSU.... not trying to be pessimistic, but he was a 4 star recruit, ranked like top 15 RB in the country out of highschool.... his numbers he put up were insane! Big time recruit.
I am just assuming there will be numerous big schools going after him........... fingers crossed though, it would be SWEET to see him in Bozeman.

Re: Zion Echols
He could possibly transfer to another FBS, but he'd have to sit out a year and lose his sophomore year of eligibility. Another option would be to go to a JC and then possibly bounce back, or he could transfer to FCS and be eligible to play D-1 right away. I don't think it's that big of a longshot.mslacatfan wrote:I would honestly be pretty surprised to see this guy land at MSU.... not trying to be pessimistic, but he was a 4 star recruit, ranked like top 15 RB in the country out of highschool.... his numbers he put up were insane! A guy like that, although appreciative, is probably not too excited about an offer from a FCS school.Cledus wrote:Maybe he's still excited about MSU, but was supposed to have waited before tweeting. For what, I don't know. Just an idea.Hawks86 wrote:Looks like he deleted the tweet about the offer.

I bet he goes FCS, if he goes FBS he's got to sit a year and everyone on his twitter is talking about he's ready to ball now.91catAlum wrote:A guy like that, although appreciative, is probably not too excited about an offer from a FCS school.Cledus wrote:Maybe he's still excited about MSU, but was supposed to have waited before tweeting. Re: Zion Echols
Wouldn't be the first time a 4 star recruit transferred to an FCS school. Hell wouldn't be the first at MSU.
The coaches are having a tug of war with Andersen and where to play him. I think Choate ultimately likes him at LB, so he told his guys to go get a stud RB and then Andersen can move back to D. The way the roster looks now you almost have to assume he will play RB because we need him there, but if we land a guy like Echols, maybe not.
Just a theory.

Re: Zion Echols
These transfer rules confuse me. If Echols played this year at CAL, then why would he be eligible to play right away at MSU and not have to sit out a year?

He's a drop down. Can play right away. If he goes to another FBS, he would have to sit.
