Re: BOOM
What does "bounce back" on his Twitter page mean?
Looks like he kicked for Wyoming and then for whatever reason left? Am I reading that right?

If he had a rough time at WY Why are we interested? ( of course he could have been blown off course by the ferocious Laramie winds)

And we need a kickoff specialist to kick it into end zone.

Re: BOOM - K Bailey
I talked with the kicking consultant hired by MSU 2 years ago and he told me that it was by plan that they didn't kick the ball in the end zone. The consultant was a kicker at Arkansas St. and he is from Alabama, really interesting guy to talk special teams with. I actually didn't meet him not at a game, I met him in Red Lodge skiing. He told me that Peppinger can get it to the end zone consistently, but Robertson and Choate want directional kicking and that is why you see a lot of high kicks to the left or right.BleedingBLue wrote:Montanabob wrote:And we need a kickoff specialist to kick it into end zone.

I also asked him what he thought about not kicking it into the end zone every time and he said with a grin, no comment. I believe him that Pepp can get to the end zone but I wonder if he can get it there consistently when the wind blows? Who knows though, because maybe he wasn't kicking it 100% every time because the coaches didn't want him to.
If your left, you aren’t right.

I would hope after how bad were were in coverage last season that the plan will change moving forward. I covered my eyes every time a return man got the ball on kickoffs, and hoped we stopped him before the 30.Hi-Line Bobcat wrote:I talked with the kicking consultant hired by MSU 2 years ago and he told me that it was by plan that they didn't kick the ball in the end zone. Re: BOOM - K Bailey
I actually did a breakdown on this after the 2016 where MSU's kickoff coverage didn't allow a return for a TD all year and the opponents average starting field position was like the 21-yard line. All because the ball didn't go out of the endzone. It was schemed.Hi-Line Bobcat wrote:I talked with the kicking consultant hired by MSU 2 years ago and he told me that it was by plan that they didn't kick the ball in the end zone. The kickoff coverage was a bit sketchy in the Cat-griz game. Louis-McGee nearly killed the Cats on returns this year. Thanks to Chad Kanows speed, McGee was stopped from breaking one off for a TD.

2016 kickoff coverage was exceptional. 2017 kickoff coverage? Not so much.AFCAT wrote:The kickoff coverage was a bit sketchy in the Cat-griz game. Louis-McGee nearly killed the Cats on returns this year. Thanks to Chad Kanows speed, McGee was stopped from breaking one off for a TD.
