Post by Colter_Nuanez » Tue Nov 21, 2017 5:01 pm

Big Sky announces 2017 awards, all-conference teams - Weber led Big Sky all-league selections with 16 honorees on 3 teams, followed by Southern Utah (12), Eastern Washington (10), Sac State (10), NAU (9). Montana had 13 total including HM, MSU had 8

Not to be all nit-picky...but its interesting that the #1 rushing offense in the conference and the #8 rushing team in the nation only has ONE o-line or RB on the first, second, or third teams.

Yeah, they really need some sort of an "athlete" category. Murray is the second leading rusher in the conference and isn't recognized at all. Santiago rushed for almost 400 fewer yards at about the same yards per carry and he is a first teamer. I know Santiago plays a different position, but he also didn't throw for 15 touchdowns or have to lead the offense.

That is interesting. Wonder if that’s more of a credit to Chris and RBs, the scheme/playcalling, or if we had guys get overlooked. I don’t know enough about the other OL around the league to compare to our guys.

They still put a FB on the All-BSC teams even though Poly is the only team that's even really had a fullback in the last decade. So they've given the FB as sort of an all-purpose athlete award to guys like Chad Newell and Tre Robinson. Maybe they should get rid of FB and have an all-purpose offensive player.

I completely agree. That’s a total injustice.

Murray 1st Team All Purpose
Brott 1st Team Guard
Mahoney 2nd Team Tackle
Neale 2nd Team Center

LASANE would’ve been on the RB board had he played the entirety. A case could be made he still should be in there
