Is it really a headscratcher? Choate had no prior relationship with Clay and may have simply had another coach in mind already for the position Clay was interested in. Yes, it absolutely, 100% is a headscratcher for me. Choate surrounded himself with assistants and coaches who have ties to and understand the importance of the Cat griz rivalry. It doesn't get much better than a former player. That's right. I knew it was Ferriter and started with an M but forgot the rest.
