3rd and 14, Murray hits Herbert on a hitch for a first down.

Exciting stuff!!! It's just a scrimmage, but it's definitely what we're all hoping to hear about Murray.bobcat92 wrote:Murray so far in the scrimage 10 of 13 thus far for 192 and 1 score.

It is what I was hoping to hear.
Also sounds like Rovig is not disappointing as well.

Colter also commented that the offense scheme has changed from last year and I think implied this is matching up with Murray's style of play.

Armstrong's past offensive systems have always been predicated on matching his player's talents and abilities. Sometimes it changes from year to year but he has always put his players in positions to succeed.bobcat92 wrote:Colter also commented that the offense scheme has changed from last year and I think implied this is matching up with Murray's style of play.

Re: Scrimmage 8/12
That's a good point. Obviously as an 18-year-old Murray had, and has, lots of room for growth. I'm not annoiting him the next McGhee, but he has definitely gotten significantly better. That should surprise no one.bobcat92 wrote:Colter also commented that the offense scheme has changed from last year and I think implied this is matching up with Murray's style of play.

I am a fan of this offensive mind set. Take the players you have and build around it. I think Armstrong moving to O coordinator was as set up for the program.VimSince03 wrote:Armstrong's past offensive systems have always been predicated on matching his player's talents and abilities. Murray put up Prukopian (always wanted to use that) and McGhee-esque (needs work) numbers albeit in scrimmage.

Re: Scrimmage 8/12
From the tweets I am seeing I would agree. We will find out when the season begins but I think Murray will play much better than last year if only from having that experience. I think Choate made a good choice of hiring DM as QB coach. I think we are going to see the dividends of this in the coming season.TomCat88 wrote:That's a good point. Re: Scrimmage 8/12
The biggest area of improvement I wanted to see was an increased QB-to-WR connection with Murray and his receivers (Herbert, Kassis, Paige, etc.). From what I read today, those guys "being on the same page" has taken a significant step forward.bobcat92 wrote:From the tweets I am seeing I would agree. Re: Scrimmage 8/12
Did the running backs and wide receivers have rough days? I see they were doing burpies and running. I didn't see the whole scrimmage.
