Re: Fall camp
It would've been interesting to sit in on the film session last night.
Murray reminds me of Prukop a lot. He preforms better under pressure.

Re: Fall camp
Did not see Thomas being ahead of Cole earlier this year. Nice surprise.
Didn't think Burgess would contribute this year.
Didn't see McCutcheon playing either. Really nice surprise. Can honestly say I didn't think Wood would play until JR/Sr year.
Rovig is in the situation I said he would be. Redshirt unless injury, and then he's starter. Thought Kanow might play, glad he gets to redshirt (providing no injuries).
Hope Yates gets to RS.
Really good freshman class we have. Really good.

Our TE situation outside of Sullivan is bad. Need to recruit hard at that position.
I'm really, really, really bummed that James Campbell has been hurt. I think he could've challenged for playing time. Really like his game.

Curtis Amos is still on the roster isn't he? He's more of a blocking TE but I think he's pretty competent. Maybe after that there is a pretty big drop off.bobcat99 wrote:Our TE situation outside of Sullivan is bad. Need to recruit hard at that position.

I was responding to your comment that outside of Sullivan the position is bad. I also said after Amos there is a drop off. I didn't say we only need those 2.bobcat99 wrote:Need more than two TE's.BleedingBLue wrote:Curtis Amos is still on the roster isn't he? He's more of a blocking TE but I think he's pretty competent. Coaches moved Wilson Brott back to tight end as well.

Amos isn't a threat. Just saying the positional talent is weak outside of Sullivan, that's all.BleedingBLue wrote:I was responding to your comment that outside of Sullivan the position is bad. Re: Fall camp
Woody Brandom leaving might have been the biggest loss of anyone. He had a bright future for sure. 3 star TE, played as a true freshman. From what I heard and read, the coaches were high on him as well...
Him leaving was both disappointing and surprising.
Who knows- ryan Davis might be that guy that comes out of nowhere and becomes a great TE, just give him a year or 2 to learn the position and pack on some weight.

I agree on Brandon, why did he leave? Just not bought in?mslacatfan wrote:Woody Brandom leaving might have been the biggest loss of anyone. He had a bright future for sure. 3 star TE, played as a true freshman. From what I heard and read, the coaches were high on him as well...

With this staff I'd be surprised if we don't pick up a 3 star te this year or next.

Is Josh Hill hurt? Colter tweeted that he is not with the starting linebacker group? Wasn't sure if that was just for a practice or two, but he made it sound like he was missing from the depth chart

I say Peyton Hanser may be in the mix for a future TE. A lengthy athletic kid who has room to fill out just like Sullivan has (who began his Cat career as a WR).BleedingBLue wrote:I was responding to your comment that outside of Sullivan the position is bad. Re: Fall camp
Don't sleep on Clark Judisch either. I know he was just a PWO, but he came to school at 6'4 190 pounds and he is up to 220 now after his redshirt freshman season. Was a high school quarterback and DB so he has athleticism. He actually had offers to most MT NAIA schools as a QB and was going to Tech until the very last minute. Not saying we don't need some more potential horses at the position, but he could develop into an Austin Barth type player by his Junior or Senior season. I have seen very few kids with the work ethic that Clark has.bobcat99 wrote:Amos isn't a threat. Hill was practicing today, so he isn't hurt. Not sure if the depth chart thing was just an omission or if something else is going on.Pecos24 wrote:Yeah, I was wondering about this as well...Grizaddict wrote:Is Josh Hill hurt? A lot of offers to TE's for the 2018 recruiting class thus far. Lets hope we land a few.bobcat99 wrote:Our TE situation outside of Sullivan is bad. Need to recruit hard at that position.
