Ranking of School Revenues
The Murray gossip thread has grown tiresome....so I thought you might find this of interest. I always find the "We should move up to FBS" argument difficult to understand when you see the gap between the top schools compared to the Big Sky. Texas A&M raked in $194 million last year. There's no way we can compete against schools with those resources. I was surprised to see James Madison at #59. Griz clocked in at 128...Cats at 136.

The team by team breakdowns are really interesting. I'd hate to be a student at Sac State when you see the fees they pay. MSU can certainly improve in rights/licensing and contributions.
James Madison's student fees are $36 Million compared with $1.8 Million at MSU.

Remember that USA Today takes their info. from the publicly available reports on the Board of Regents site which have greater detail. https://mus.edu/data/Athletics/2016/default.asp

There is an item on the MSU statement that doesn't seem to belong. That item is not on the um statement.

I remember not that long ago the California university system had zero tuition for in-staters. No longer the case, but it doesn't appear Sac States fees are out of line.AFCAT wrote:The team by team breakdowns are really interesting. Re: Ranking of School Revenues
I was going by what's posted in the article. Sac State does have a lot more students than MSU, but according to this document, their money generated by student fees is considerably more per person than MSU.Mr Lisle wrote:I remember not that long ago the California university system had zero tuition for in-staters. How many of the Power 5 teams receive money for athletics from their respective states? Virtually all of their athletic departments are controlled by foundations--that is to say, nonprofits.
The quarterback from Eastern Washington two years ago left for Eugene to work on a master's in nonprofits.
