So I'm pretty sure this is our new O-line coach. Josh Taufalele was a Grad Assistant at Washington while Coach Choate and Gerald Alexander were there in 2014.

https://foothill.edu/ath/football/assistant.php
This was his bio from last year while at Foothills CC football:
Taufalele returns home as the Offensive Line Coach/ Co-Offensive Coordinator/ Academic Liaison.
He returns after spending two seasons at the University of Washington as the offensive line graduate assistant. This was an offensive line that started four different freshmen, as well as true freshmen Trey Adams. In the 2015 their OL helped pave the way for the Freshmen All American Myles Gaskin and his 1,302 (School Record) yard season, averaging 513 yards and 26 first downs in each of its final four games.
During the 2014 season at Washington, Taufalele helped coach a high powered offense which ranked fourth-most points in Washington history. From the group two offensive linemen earned honorable mention All-Pac-12.
Prior to leaving for the University of Washington Taufalele coached at Foothill for four seasons, producing five All-Nor-Cal Conference players and one All-American lineman.
He played on the offensive line at the University of New Mexico 2008 and 2009 after transferring from Foothill College. As a Lobo, he started 24 straight games during his two-year career, earning Academic All-Mountain West Conference both seasons before earning a degree in sociology. He was named the team's most outstanding offensive lineman following his senior season.
During his two seasons as a player at Foothill, he helped lead the Owls to a pair of 10-1 finishes and two top-five national finishes, earning all-league and all-state as a sophomore in 2007. He prepped at Independence High in San Jose.

Looks like a great pickup. I like his experience as an OL coach as well as an OC at the JC level. Also like that he played and coached at the FBS level. Also like his recruiting connections with california JC's as well as with the Poly players. Looks like a high energy guy with a big fun personality.

Keep in mind, nothing confirmed yet. But based off recent twitter interaction between him and the coaches along with Bobcat Athletics AND the fact he coached with Choate, it looks like this is the guy.

Looking good Coach Choate!
If confirmed, very happy to have an up-and-coming Poly coach on our staff, it's almost a necessity in today's recruiting landscape.

So why did he go from a cc to the UW and then back to the same cc?

I'd assume $$. He was a grad asst at UW. I think that's basically a volunteer position.

Vim good call! Choate adds another up and coming coach to the mix. Choates path to MSU has given him a good pool of coaches to tap!

Coach Taufalele has one of those names that would sound great coming from Jay Sanderson announcing a football game.
TaufaLELE!

Choate is just stocking up on recruiters. Now hopefully they can coach a bit, but getting talent and selling your program effectively is huge. If we can make more inroads in California and with Poly players, that's a huge get. Those guys always make good lineman.

I am excited to see this guys interview. I really think Choate has some great connections in the coaching world and I think we are pretty darn lucky to be getting some of these guys and helping them to advance on in the coaching world.

Sorry if I've missed it somewhere, but does anyone know how to pronounce his name? I'm thinking Toffa lay lay. Is that even close?
