Ya it was definitely surprising to see them falter late, and miss the playoffs.iaafan wrote:Tech was 6-4 and lost final 3 games after beating Northern 93-19. Not seeing anything particularly bad ass about them. They would get crushed by MSU and UM.

Who said Montana Tech would compete with UM or MSU? All we are saying is that Tech is getting solid Montana kids.91catAlum wrote:Ya it was definitely surprising to see them falter late, and miss the playoffs.iaafan wrote:Tech was 6-4 and lost final 3 games after beating Northern 93-19. Re: Montana Recruits 2018
I never said anything about them beating MSU or UM. I said they were badass because in the two games I watched them play this year, 1 win and 1 loss, they played tough and they played hard. Fresno St under Pat Hill didn’t always have winning seasons but they were always badass. Anybody, anytime, anywhere.iaafan wrote:Tech was 6-4 and lost final 3 games after beating Northern 93-19. Re: Montana Recruits 2018
No one did, I implied that Tech could give the Cats or griz a helluva game... and I stand by that, I don't think they'd win, but I don't think it would be 60-0 either.VimSince03 wrote:Who said Montana Tech would compete with UM or MSU? Ya’ll are high.
Tech lost to Western by 7.
The same Western team that Weber beat 76-0

It wouldn't be remotely close. I'm glad Tech prioritizes Montana kids unlike any other in-state NAIA school (better than Rocky and Carroll). But let's not understate the size, speed, strength disparity between NAIA and FCS schools.Go Scats Go wrote:Ya’ll are high.

Tech wouldn’t beat MSU or UM. Our point was that Tech is getting some very good MT kids, kids who could make a FCS roster given the chance. Yes, Tech had some disappointing games this year, but that happens to every team, every division.

Underrated?? Speed and instinct more than make up the height
Might be the best LB in MT?? Beats blocks better than any other LB, and has the fastest closing speed

offensive plays at the end of the Senior Year clip were impressive
dude blocks like a beast and can the run ball as good as anyone when he actually got carries

Yes underrated, he reminds me of Josh Hill, solid, hits hard, quick feet. Another possible Montana Kid @ LB!cattz wrote:Underrated?? Speed and instinct more than make up the height

I don't think he's underrated. I thought he was one of the Top 20 players in the state prior to his senior season. He cemented that with an 1st-Team All-State performance. Blake's stock only went up!cattz wrote:Underrated?? Speed and instinct more than make up the height

Re: Montana Recruits 2018
Stitt wanted him to walk-on. Hauck must have come through with a scholarship. Not sure what the Cats offered but I'm fairly certain they at least offered a PWO. Anyway, Levi was a wrecking ball as a running QB his final two years at Big Sky. He's 6'0", 220 lbs. and he is very tough to bring down on initial contact. He can develop as a running back, fullback, or linebacker. Great get for Bobby.
I think the Bobcats #1 priority right now should be to make sure Nolan Askelson remains a Bobcat. Bobby does not mess around with in-state recruiting.

Given the year the kid had, he deserves some $$$VimSince03 wrote:Stitt wanted him to walk-on. Hauck must have come through with a scholarship. If Choate cannot out-recruit Hauck there’s something wrong with him. The only kids I see going to UM for Hauck are legacy players and kids you guys don’t offer. Hauck is a pox on Griz football and society. I’m concerned we’ll start losing players on other teams, especially our women’s teams.VimSince03 wrote:Stitt wanted him to walk-on. Hauck is only one of the best in-state recruiters we've ever seen. No biggie.grizgirl wrote:If Choate cannot out-recruit Hauck there’s something wrong with him. I think you are greatly overreacting.
