It's always nice to see a Livingston kid represent. It's just not a football town. Really it's not an anything town for sports. So what can you tell me about the kid, Vim or Howie[big fan of the Big Bang Theory and I have a beer or two(Base Camp Lost Meridian Wit...might be my new hot day tailgate beer....I am enjoying this unique beer) on an empty stomach on this hot f-ing night so from now on your Delta Tau Chi name shall be Howie] note to self....watch Animal House soon.

Also, I hope the Columbia falls kid on the dl goes somewhere that he is on tv playing. I want to hear announcers struggle with that name.

Bruce has a Chase Benson type build and he's strong at the point of attack. One of my favorite defensive line recruits in this class.

What I see in him is grit and agility. He can move pretty well for his size, and he plays hard. Has decent feet and makes decent initial contact at the line. With the offense he plays in I would like to see him get more pancakes. But overall I think he has a frame that can add weight in the future, and could be a good center at the FCS/NAIA level.

Brock Peterson has big play making ability. Has some things he needs to work on to become a college level WR, but he has kick returning ability and the natural instinct of finding the open lane in the field with the ball in his hands.

Don't remember if I have asked this before but when was the last time Livingston made any football news. Last I recall was during Frank Schoonover's last year at Park in about 76...

Very well could be. And I don't see them making a very deep run this year either. I do like Brock, and their QB has a pretty good arm. Could be a NAIA prospect eventually. His name slips my mind, but I believe his last name starts with R. Anyways, I watched his film and I like what I saw.

Howard: Why isn't Estes on your list? Did I miss something?

Also, I'm wondering if you're the same Howard Ross that played here in the early 60s?

You didn't miss anything. In fact, you caught my mistake. When I posted this I left a few kids off on accident and he is one of them. A big one in fact. Thanks for the heads up ](*,)

I didn't list TE in this post, I have only scouted about two or three true TEs. Some kids can translation to TE in college, say a Easton Hatfield, but for those who are curious my #1 TE is Max Morris out of Glacier, and my #2 is Matt Culpon out of Capital.

Figured that would happen. I didn't get the impression msu coaches were real high on quick. Plus I think we only have 2 graduating seniors on the OL so not much to give out there.

All that said, I really like quick and wish he was a cat.

Figured that would happen. MSU coaches that I talked to weren't real high on quick. That really surprised me

not sure how true that is. I was told he had full ride offers from both schools. Maybe Colter can confirm?

Very well could be. I know Purcell from Idaho was on him as well. I really like the kid.

I can't confirm anything, but I can say I heard the cats coaches had lost interest in him. And I did see that there weren't any cat coaches following him on twitter. Of course this is all speculation, but I did get the feeling from some recent camps that the cats were no longer pursuing Conor.
And to all the cats fans hanging your head over this apparent loss, I can say that I think that it wasn't a big loss, and I know Vim says he's a top 10 recruit, but I'm saying you missed out on a recruit that's in the 30-15 range.

Think cats biggest concern on Quick was his speed? There a lot of 5.1 lineman in the FCS.

Possibly. Quick was known for his surprising speed at his size but has seem to slow down at recent camps I've been too. If I had to guess, and that's all this is, a guess, I'd say they didn't like his technique. He's not the best at finishing blocks, if he doesn't knock you down with the initial hit, then he doesn't knock you down at all. Also Quick isn't a grinder in my opinion, from the film I watch he isn't the type of lineman that cats seem to be interested in.

See his 40 time a 5.6 Jeff likes lineman in that 5.2 and under.the game is so much faster at this level.

I stand corrected and it sounds like you were right. I talked to someone more in the know and both Cats and Griz were on him early but only offer (so far) came from Griz. Not sure if Cats have other plans or will offer but guessing that offer would have come already.
