Vim, in your opinion who else do we need to finish off this recruiting class? i don't have a list of offers but that Kyle Rygg kid from Oregon would be a great addition at DE (6'4ish, maybe visiting??)
Pretty quite on the recruiting front which tells me we may almost be done

Re: New Boom
I don't know. I think it's good as is. We are going to have a very good PWO group as well. A lot of good developmental prospects in-state this year still left on the board.Bozcat003 wrote:Solid get to cap off this fantastic Montana ClassVimSince03 wrote:https://twitter.com/SkylineSportsMT/status/821937328247754752

Some players are described as having football speed. Davis has football strength. He plays bigger than he is, yet he's also very athletic. You don't see video like his often. Knocks people around.

Re: Ryan Davis commits to the Cats
A coach once told me you can tell how strong, and technically sound, a player is by how they get squared up to tackle and the hit lifts the runners feet off the ground. I wasn't watching for it and had actually forgotten about that, but Davis does that a few times in his Hudl tape and jogged my memory. I went and watched some Hudl tape of other players and didn't see that very often.

Re: Ryan Davis commits to the Cats
The first play of his junior highlight, he pops Michael Banna from Missoula Big Sky (a 230 lb. fullback) and lifts him off the ground for the tackle. It's impressive. Ryan is far and away the best tackler in this class along with fellow linebacker Marcus Welnel.TomCat88 wrote:A coach once told me you can tell how strong, and technically sound, a player is by how they get squared up to tackle and the hit lifts the runners feet off the ground. Here are some notes I jotted down about Ryan prior to his senior season:
- Great tackler; ball carrier stops when he hits; 1st highlight he meets Banna in the gap and game over; also stood toe to toe with Grinde multiple times
- Perfect size for a linebacker or to develop at DE
- Sifts through traffic which is a key trait for a MLB
- Rodeo athlete
- Long arms and long legs
- Good instincts when he trusts his reads
- Doesn’t always trust the read and hesitates because he is too patient
- Used on offense as a wildcat QB with good results along with being a FB and TE
- May lack some lateral movement which is a concern but still has good feet

This young man is a Football Player. I don't know what position he will end up at, but he will find the field...somewhere. Because he knows how to play Football. It may sound simplistic, but it's a high complement.

Great pad level. He always seems to be the low man who delivers the blow. It will be interesting to see where he ends up, but he is definitely a football player.

Speaking of Grinde -- what is his status? Is he still planning to return to Yale? Football?VimSince03 wrote:
