Does anyone know the capacity of the Brick these days? I heard on twitter that the crowd was almost 3000. That's a hell of a jump in crowd size from years past!mslacatfan wrote:I can only assume the recruits were at the Bball game today..... which can't hurt our chances of getting them. What a huge win, and what looked like a great crowd/atmosphere.

What's the largest crowd to ever watch a basketball game there? I bet it's close to 10,000.AFCAT wrote:blueandgoldblitz wrote:Does anyone know the capacity of the Brick these days? It's got to be close to that, I remember some large crowds back in the mid/late 80s for Cat griz games, and when we hosted the conference tourney.Long Time Cat wrote:What's the largest crowd to ever watch a basketball game there? I seem to remember that there were 10,000 of us that watched the '70 AA championship when Brent Wilson hung 51 on Pat Donovan. Those old style wooden bleachers were more compact so you could squeeze more people in. People are "bigger" now. They wouldn't put up with it.91catAlum wrote:It's got to be close to that, I remember some large crowds back in the mid/late 80s for Cat griz games, and when we hosted the conference tourney.Long Time Cat wrote:What's the largest crowd to ever watch a basketball game there? Re: 2017 MSU Recruiting (24 Verbals)
I can tell you one thing, Coach Choate is fulfilling his promise of making this team bigger up front and he really stressed getting longer, meaning some height and long arms, without sacrificing athleticism. There are some big, athletic players in this class. there are 6'4" DBs and LBs, 6'5" - 6'6" DLs, 6'5" QBs, 6'4" + OLs who can run. This looks like an exciting class for sure!

Hey guys just letting you know that I haven't added Willie Patterson to the verbal list yet because he hasn't publicly announced his commitment even though Choate basically confirmed it with his tweet on Saturday. Willie tweeted out his official offer on Saturday as well.

All right fellas. I want opinions. We have a lot of OL coming in this year. Who is this year's JP Flynn (outstanding lineman, any position)? I'm thinking Zach Redd! He just has that mean streak in him and he loves putting DL and LB on their butts. If all works out, we could be set at the center position for a long time between Neale and Redd!

There were still wooden bleachers in early 80's. We snapped one in half during the Cat/Griz game in 1984 (when Hurley hit the half court shot to beat the Griz).

Montana State enters the offseason with Chris Murray, the reigning Big Sky Freshman of the Year, entrenched as the starter. But Rovig brings another skill set to Bozeman as a pass-first quarterback as opposed to the scrambling Murray.
“The coaches get to play their cards and see what they like more,” Rovig said.

Re: 2017 MSU Recruiting (24 Verbals)
I was at the first basketball game in the fieldhouse in the late 50's...1958 I think. Montana State College vs. Seattle University and the great All-American, Elgin Baylor. The place was packed! I had been to capacity tournaments at the Butte Civic Center with about 6,000 other people, but the field house seemed enormous by comparison. I do recall the official attendance announced in the paper the next day was 9,600.91catAlum wrote:It's got to be close to that, I remember some large crowds back in the mid/late 80s for Cat griz games, and when we hosted the conference tourney.Long Time Cat wrote:What's the largest crowd to ever watch a basketball game there? Re: 2017 MSU Recruiting (28 Commits)
When I have some downtime, I'll release my individual ranking on this class with opinions on strengths and weaknesses for each prospect. I won't include the transfers. For a teaser, here is my Top 5:
1) Jalen Cole
2) Zach Redd
3) Tucker Rovig
4) Tyrel Thomas
5) Travis Yates
Yeah, I think Zach Redd is really, really good.

Troy Anderson's Dillon squad held off upset minded Hardin just now to win 60-55. He had a steal and bucket in the final seconds to ice it.VimSince03 wrote:https://twitter.com/WylieTom/status/839920438037774336JDoub wrote:Bobcat recruits lead Glacier over griz recruits in roundball .... foreshadowing what is to come.
