Suddenly stacked group of receivers relishing extra depth

Post by Colter_Nuanez » Fri Apr 17, 2015 7:45 am

A year ago, MSU didn't have enough wide receivers. Now it seems like the Bobcats have more than enough.Read the Full Article on BobcatNation

I am really excited to see the WR/TE group this year. Not only catching the ball, but blocking on the perimeter. We have some really big and physical WR/TE's so I bet our RB/QB are going to love the extra blocking they can provide to get to the second level -----> GONE!

Amazing how this time last year so many were lamenting the woeful state of the receivers and then you fast forward to the season and all the freshmen were called upon and what their performances looked like. Many were posting how great the linebackers would be along with the defensive line...here's hoping our defense so many are skeptical about given last years showing surprises all of us this fall as our offense did last year. Looking back at the threads from last year, many thought the obvious choice for quarteback going into the summer was going to be Bleskin. I'm looking forward to our secondary this year!

Where is Tanner Roderick? He is not even being mentioned in the top 8-10 guys.

Didn't you just answer your own question? He's where was he last year even when the majority of the WR corp was hurt...on the sidelines watching the freshmen and underclassman, who out worked, play. Just happy Kempt is playing/ranking his guys on talent and what they are doing on the field, not what was done in the past, what year they are in school, or how long they have been in the program. If he's not mentioned in the top 10 then he's not one of the top 10, it's as simple as that.

His stock has obviously tumbled. He started 8-9 games last and missed a couple due to injury. He was third in receptions among WRs despite making just 15 catches.

MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

He was money in the EWU game. We haven't seen the last of Roderick yet.

He had one pretty long reception this afternoon. If memory serves. Maybe 20/25 yards

I had it for 31 yards. Aside from Justin Paige's 39-yard touchdown catch, it was the longest reception of the day.

It was kind of cool to see develop from where I sat. The outside receiver cleared the db out and Jake went back to pass. I'm thinking he's passing into tight coverage to that guy and then here's TR...wide open.
