Re: Five Bobcats earn first-team All-Big Sky honors
How is Bolton only Honorable Mention at punter? Didn't he lead the entire nation in net punting? I know he did for much of the season anyway...not sure if he finished on top. Despite that, by my count MSU had 19 players on the list, at 22 different positions. Brekke, Johnson, and Newell were all named at more than one position. That's fairly impressive.

Re: Five Bobcats earn first-team All-Big Sky honors
Congratulations to all the guys on the list. Very proud day to be a Bobcat.
In addition Colter once again thank you for all of your hard work. It is just a crying shame that if you don't write something negative about the team there is little or no response. Montana is such a beautiful state with beautiful people, how did so many ugly people congregate on Bobcat Nation.
Any way from someone who could not be prouder to be a Bobcat fan and looking forward to the playoffs, GO CATS GO !!!!!

Re: Five Bobcats earn first-team All-Big Sky honors
Bolton led the nation in net punting and helped MSU give up just 13 punt return yards all season. He averaged 44.6 yards per punt despite roll punting no less than 20 times, definitely hurting his average. I'd bet he averaged 48-50 yards per punt when he fully kicked the ball. These lists are always very flawed after the first and second-team lists.John K wrote:How is Bolton only Honorable Mention at punter? Didn't he lead the entire nation in net punting? Guys with legit arguments to be higher up on the list:
Keep in mind, North Dakota flummoxed everyone in the league defensively but didn't land a single player on the top three teams...
UND LB Will Ratelle
Idaho State safety Taison Manu
Cal Poly QB Chris Brown
MSU QB Dakota Prukop
Cal Poly fullback Brandon Howe
MSU P Trevor Bolton
NAU MLB Austin Hasquet
Weber MLB Emmett Tela
Sac LB Henry Fernandez
UND DT Spencer Cummings
UND S/LB Baylee Carr
UC Davis receiver Ramon Vargas
EWU OT Clay DeBord
ISU guard Skylar Phillips (snubbed and I had him first team...)
MSU K Luke Daly
Weber State DE Dustin Martin
ISU linebacker Mitch Beckstead
PSU tackle Kyle Smith
Montana TE Mitch Saylor
EWU center Jase Butorac
Montana QB Jordan Johnson
Montana RB Travon Van (he switched to WR but was voted on as an RB)
NAU RB Casey Jahn
MSU H-back Chad Newell
Cal Poly DT Chris Lawrence
ISU CB Vai Peko
EWU CB Victor Gamboa
Point is, there's a lot of good players in this league.

Doesn't qualify. Has to be a freshman or a transfer.ElbowCat wrote:How is Dakota not newcomer of the year?Colter_Nuanez wrote:Bolton led the nation in net punting and helped MSU give up just 13 punt return yards all season.
