Yeah, I'm kind of tired of the past week of making these guys out to be world-beaters because they beat a UM team that most people believe was grossly over-rated at the time. Time to send them packing!

Me too they beat a mediocre Grizz team and now they are good. We will win and beat the Grizz by more. Watch the game last week on Big Sky the guys announcing the game called JJ not great and maybe average and thought the defense had a lot of quit in them. They were much more worried about us and for good reason FTG and GO CATS GO, and as infatuated as Colter and some are with the Grizz if you beat them it dose not mean you are great.

Yep. You'd think they're national title favorites with all the talk this week.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Tend to agree withe the above posts. Defense does make a tad bit nervous though.

We'll know a whole lot about our defense after this game. We either make a run for the BSC OR we settle into a fun but bumpy November!

Yep and after this game, we can either laugh in Colter's face or he can say I told you so. ;)

I'm hoping we laugh and laugh hard.

Poly has a fine head coach in Tim Walsh. He had Portland State at the verge of championships with some really fine teams. Could never quite get by the griz. From '96-'06 he was 6-5 vs the CATS. His teams lost the first game, won the next five in a row, lost three in a row and split the last two, his final a loss in '06, 14-0. PSU has not beaten the CATS since he left to join the staff at Army.

The headlines in Bobcat Beat were "the unknown awaits in SLO" "discipline key to stop vaunted option" "swarming Mustang defense" "attitude sparks Poly resurgence". Maybe it should be Mustang Beat?

I don't know if I like the headlines but it's sure nice to learn more about the teams that we are about to play. Colter does that very well with his articles. If one has followed Bobcat Beat all Fall we should know nearly all there is to know about the Cats and each week he does give us more about our Cats. The bulk of the news is in what our next opponent has that will be a challenge for our team and how we will likely meet those challenges.

Great way to put it. This game very much seems like a "crossing the Rubicon" sort of point in the season. Do we deserve to be a top 10 team in the country or just a top half Big Sky team? We will see on Saturday!

Brown. Brown, Brown, Brown. Tackle him every play. Key to the entire game.

You got it. Look through each week of headlines and there are exactly the same number of stories written about Montana State's opponents.

For those who haven't caught on yet, the story schedule for the week is as follows.

Monday: Polls, players of the week, Initial scouting report with players to watch

Tuesday: Recapping last week's game, initial thoughts from MSU on this week's game

Wednesday: Basic stories about intriguing angles like MSU has never been to SLO under Ash, a key matchup story, the Bobcat Roundtable coach podcast

Thursday: An in-depth look at MSU's offense vs opposing D, MSU's D vs opposing O and a feature on that week's opponent as a program.

Friday: A profile on an MSU senior, a profile on a player from the other team, each given away for free.

Saturday morning: A game preview story

Saturday evening: A game story

Sunday: Sunday notebook with follow ups from each week's contest.

"Tuesday: Recapping last week's loss, initial thoughts from MSU on this week's game"

Must not have too many Tuesday stories to write if they are "last week's loss"
