Here's the tv schedule:
http://www.msubobcats.com/schedule.aspx?path=football" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
My understanding is that non-Root broadcast Big Sky Conference HOME games will have an internet broadcast.
So yes, you must watch this game. No options. You MUST watch it.

I see the game is now also scheduled to be broadcast on Altitude.
Should have access to it anywhere now, nationally (Altitude), regionally (Max Media), and on the internet (BigSkyTv).

Yeah I saw that as well, but if you go forward on the DirecTV guide to next Thursday it shows TBA at this time.

That really surprises me that Altitude would be able to pick up this game as well as Max Media. Max is listed on the official schedule as the TV broadcast. Knowing just a little something about the TV industry, companies really don't like sharing viewers with a competitor, hurting its advertising. I wonder if Altitude will be blacked out in the Max Media markets?

I'm just happy to have the game on TV, rather than having to watch it on my laptop here in Atlanta!

Well maybe Altitude had absolutely nothing else to throw in that time slot.tdub wrote:That really surprises me that Altitude would be able to pick up this game as well as Max Media. My guess is Altitude is picking up the Max Media coverage and not bringing their own crew out to broadcast the game. It's great for us outside of the Max Media area. It's better quality then running it through the net. BTW the game on the 14th against Colorado Mesa is also getting picked up by Altitude.

Re: Will the opening game get picked up for TV?
Could be. But I still can't imagine how Max Media would be okay with that...unless they knew it from the get-go and were able to get the game at an incredibly inexpensive rate where the profits will still be strong enough. So okay, maybe I CAN imagine it. I did not know that about the Mesa game so maybe that was part of the TV agreement.CelticCat wrote:Well maybe Altitude had absolutely nothing else to throw in that time slot.tdub wrote:That really surprises me that Altitude would be able to pick up this game as well as Max Media. But if it was, Altitude can't just pick up the Max feed without some other form of agreement as Altitude won't run Max advertising. Split viewership equals decreased viewership and revenue.

I'm pretty sure that MM bought the broadcast rights, and Altitude will pay MM to broadcast MM's feed.tdub wrote:Could be. Re: Will the opening game get picked up for TV?
don't know about Atlanta, but at least I'll get a replay of the game in SLC from Root. Works for me, as I'm coaching and won't be able to see the game live -- I'll just have to stay away from BN and every other form of sports media until I can watch the game.

I'm betting you are right. That's the most likely scenario.cats2506 wrote:I'm pretty sure that MM bought the broadcast rights, and Altitude will pay MM to broadcast MM's feed.tdub wrote:Could be.
