One thing that caught my attention in his interview was when he said that his young coaches were all very emotionally intelligent and mature.

Emotional intelligence and maturity may have been the greatest weakness of a recent OC for the Bobcats.
Would love to hear a further explanation of this hot take.
1) The DUI charge
2) Some people here hated how Housewright came off in interviews, especially ones that took place after a loss to a certain rival team.

I don’t know why keep posting stuff like this. He doesn’t coach here anymore. Time to move it to the college thread.
That’s OK if you have an opinion. It is the title of the thread. Previous coach mentions a few things about his history at Montana State. Some of us find it interesting some of us don’t.
I personally like hearing about previous players and coaches at MSU and how they are progressing. In this day and environment of not only coach changes but portal transfers I believe that anything positive mentioned about Montana State University, and its programs only help in the recruiting process.
I enjoy hearing about Troy Andersen, and other Previous players as well that no longer play here.
Totally understandable. I guess my tact in my OP was a bit accusatory- apologies. Just think at this point it should go to the college board. And if you pressed me I’d say I miss Choate. But at one point it just feels like an old girlfriend. Time to move on.

In Choates Nevada video I do like how he talked about recruiting Brock Purdy to Montana State and developed a relationship with the younger brother at the time.

Crazy Cats were a late offer from Oregon from getting Justin Herbert and Initials talks with Purdy.

Has Choate hired an offensive coordinator?

Yes Choate had incredible recruits….. but so has vigen, his classes have been pretty amazing. Not to mention some of the immediate impact players that have joined the team under vigen- chambers, Julius Davis are 2 good examples.

MSU is recruiting at a very high level right now.

And yes, lucky. Lubic is overrated.

Even without the Vigen vs Choate comparison (which is getting old, but whatever), we're lucky Lubick didn't take the job because Lubick didn't want the job. He would have taken it and used it as a step to his next job, and he would not have been as choosy as Vigen has been. We'd already be on another HC (if Lubick's history is any indication) and trying to establish another culture.

Pay raise with lower cost of living, and Power 5(4) aspirations. Good career move.
