Post by VimSince03 » Wed Nov 15, 2017 1:47 pm

Playoff Bracket: http://assets.ngin.com/attachments/docu ... Player.pdf

Forsyth (#1 East) at Drummond/Philipsburg (#1 West)

Forsyth Key Players - QB/LB Caleb Knoche (Sr.), WR/DB Cade Johnstone (Sr.), WR/DB Paul Johnstone (Sr.), RB/LB Nathan Weber (Sr.)

Drummond/Philipsburg Key Players - QB/LB Colton Grange (Sr.), RB/LB Colby Manley (Jr.), WR/DB Jaxon Lee (So.), OL/DL Riley Allen (Jr.)
Drummond/Philipsburg defeated Circle 46-14 (My prediction was Drummond/Philipsburg wins 48-28)

Forsyth defeated Ennis 50-38 (My prediction was Forsyth wins 52-36)

Semifinal Game Recaps from Montana Sports: http://www.montanasports.com/2017/11/11 ... fairfield/
Forsyth and Flint Creek did not meet this year but the Titans did take down two straight East opponents over the past two weeks in Fairview (46-8) and Circle (46-14). Forsyth took down their East foes this year, beating Fairview 54-8 and Circle 46-18. By looking at those comparable opponents, one can deduce that this should be a classic 8-Man championship game. Forsyth rolls behind their QB Caleb Knoche who also is possibly their best defensive player. Twin wide receivers Cade and Paul Johnstone are a tough duo to contain on the outside for the Dogies while RB Nathan Weber is tough between the tackles. Both squads have big lineman with Forsyth having the stoutest front with two starters over 230 lbs. Flint Creek is a tough, physical group led by their QB Colton Grange and RB Colby Manley. The Titans also have a talented sophomore receiver in Jaxon Lee who has made plays all year. Defensively, Grange and Manley are a rangy linebacker duo that shut down opponents with DL Riley Allen provided a good pass rush. Both teams are undefeated coming in. Instead of Drummond hosting the game (which they did plenty in the 2000s), co-op partner Philipsburg will get to host the title game as each school produces an even amount of kids to the co-op. The key to shutting down Forsyth is slowing down Caleb Knoche's production. Charlo did a good job of that in the first half of their quarterfinal game before Knoche took off in the second half. The Dogies definitely have plenty of weapons but Knoche is the primary link in the chain. The key to shutting down Flint Creek is containing Colton Grange on the ground as well as through the air. He is an excellent scrambler and a physical runner. On top of slowing down Grange, you have to stuff Colby Manley on the ground which zero teams have been able to do yet this year. And Jaxon Lee really helps the Titan run game because he gives them a legitimate receiving threat. This one is going to be a fun matchup between two physical 8-Man teams. I'm going with Forsyth on the road because they have a big front on defense and have enough weapons to keep Drummond/Philipsburg off-balance on defense.

Prediction: Forsyth wins 38-32

Drummond was just too physical.
