Playoff Bracket: http://assets.ngin.com/attachments/docu ... ket-C6.pdf

Top-side of Bracket

Bainville at Hot Springs - 1:00 PM, Saturday, 11/5

Bainville Key Players: QB Trustin Holcomb, RB Brennen Brunelle, WR Will South, RB Dylan Rabbe

Hot Springs Key Players: QB Marco Degel, RB Trevor Paro, RB Kane Lawson, WR Blaine Carr

Trevor Paro scored five more touchdowns on a punt return, two receptions, and two runs to lead Hot Springs to a 66-0 win over North Star. In the process, Paro broke the Montana all-class career touchdown record and also recorded four sacks on defense. QB Marco Degel threw three touchdowns and Kane Lawson had six carries for 91 yards. The Savage Heat's quarterfinal opponent will be the Bainville Bulldogs, who won their first playoff game in over four decades in a 56-25 win over Grass Range/Winnett. QB Trustin Holcomb threw seven touchdown and WR Will South caught three of them while also opening the scoring with a 70-yard kickoff return. Grass Range/Winnett's Dawson Delaney answered that kickoff return with a 12-yard score himself but Thrustin Holcomb threw five unanswered touchdown passes before the Rangers scored again. Delaney finished with two scores on the day while Zach Stahl returned a kickoff 75 yards for a score. Bainville will travel over 600 miles to Hot Springs while Fairview (just south of Bainville) will travel to Charlo (just south of Hot Springs). My prediction for this game is that Hot Springs should win handily but Bainville will be one of their toughest opponents they have faced all season. Of course, Valier was a tough opponent for Hot Springs and they beat them 51-0. Prediction: Hot Springs wins 58-14.

Richey/Lambert at Valier - 1:00 PM, Saturday, 11/5

Richey/Lambert Key Players: RB Seth Prevost, RB Jeff Scholla, QB Kasey Watson, WR Kelvin Hill

Valier Key Players: RB Isaac Ramos, QB Colton Christiaens, WR Trevor VandenBos, RB/WR Colton Wheeler

Valier made a statement in the first round of the playoffs with a big 56-0 win over outmatched West Yellowstone. WR Trevor VandenBos got the scoring started with a 43-yard kickoff return and they never looked back. QB Colton Christiaens tossed three touchdowns while RB's Isaac Ramos, Colton Wheeler, and Wacey Rnning Crane each rushed for scores. Colton Wheeler also tossed a touchdown to R.J. Weikum. The Wolverines failed to score and finished their season at 6-4. Richey-Lambert QB Kasey Watson threw for 160 yards accounting for four total touchdowns while RB Jeff Scholla rushed for 154 yards and four scores as the Fusion flew past the Roy-Winifred Outlaws, 52-12. The game was 39-0 at halftime. This quarterfinal matchup could go either way and will likely be the most competitive game of the four quarterfinal games in 6-man. Fusion RB's Jeff Scholla and Seth Prevost are a great duo but so are Valier's Isaac Ramos and Colton Wheeler. This one will come down to who can get the most stops or, as some call it, who can break serve. Prediction: Richey/Lambert wins 48-44.

Bottom-side of Bracket

Geraldine/Highwood at Westby/Grenora - 1:00 PM, Saturday, 11/5

Geraldine/Highwood Key Players: RB Louis Aron, RB J.R. Spencer, QB Brady Duvall, WR Joey Hale

Westby/Grenora Key Players: QB Jeremiah Paine, WR Kade Guenther, WR Daulton Holecek, RB Brian Field

RB Brian Field started the scoring with a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown en route to a 67-16 Thunder victory of Custer/Hysham. QB Jeremiah Paine threw for seven touchdowns with four going to Field. WR Kade Guenther caught a 13-yard touchdown from Paine along with a 36-yard touchdown run. The game was 45-2 at halftime. Westby/Grenora has yet to lose since an opening weekend loss to Bridger, 32-20. In the tightest game in the first round, Geraldine/Highwood got 171 yards and three rushing touchdowns from J.R. Spencer en route to a 54-52 nail-biting win over Valley Christian. The first half was full of back-and-forth scoring as Valley Christian's Colton Becker took over QB duties after his younger brother went down with an injury in the final game of the regular season. Becker scored the first points of the game on a 37-yard run but the Rivals responded with a Brady Duvall pass to Mavrick McKinlay. After a Becker to Mason Woods touchdown, the Eagles had themselves a 19-16 lead going into the second quarter. Spencer took over the second quarter with three straight touchdowns for Geraldine/Highwood, bursting out to a 40-19 lead. But Valley Christian came back with Becker running in a score and finishing out the half with a toss to Woods to close the score to a 40-33 Rival lead. Becker dominated the third quarter, again running in a score (69-yard run) and a throw to Kaileb Coyne, as the Eagles entered the fourth quarter with a 46-40 lead. The Rivals regained the lead, 54-46, with a 13-yard touchdown run by Erik Nielsen and a 1-yard run by Liam Laws. This setup a wild finish. With under 30 seconds left, Becker hit Woods for a 25-yard touchdown but failed to convert the game-tying extra points. Colton Becker finished the day with seven total touchdowns (four passing/three rushing) and 354 total yards of offense (158 passing/196 rushing). Valley Christian receiver Mason Wood finished with 10 catches for 125 yards and three touchdowns. Despite the loss, Valley Christian outgained Geraldine/Highwood 419-384. The quarterfinal matchup is a rematch of the 2014 6-man Championship game where Geraldine/Highwood beat Westby/Grenora 37-20. However, the Thunder are the favorite going into this one instead of the underdog. Thunder QB Jeremiah Paine has been on fire lately and he has three legit receivers to target in the pass game. The Rivals have a strong rushing attack that Westby/Grenora will have to slow down and force the Rivals to throw the ball and play their game. Prediction: Westby/Grenora wins 38-20.

Sunburst at Bridger - 1:00 PM, Saturday, 11/5

Sunburst Key Players: QB Lane Lerum, WR Treyton Pickering, RB Jordan Williams, WR Mike Buckley

Bridger Key Players: QB/WR Kaleb Buessing, WR/QB Colter Zentner, RB Ryan Zentner, WR Colby Zentner

Colter Zentner accounted for 346 yards of offense (179 passing/167 rushing) and seven total touchdowns (four rushing/three passing) as Bridger took down the Jordan Mustangs, 51-20. Cousin Russ Zentner caught six passes for 119 yards and two scores. The score was 39-0 at halftime as Jordan's only points came after intermission. Mustang QB Tyrone Hageman hit WR Kevin Murnion for a 31-yard score, RB John Saylor scored on a 20-yard run, and Ed Murnion retuned a pick 20 yards for the games final score. Bridger moves on to face an upstart Sunburst squad that took care of business against White Sulphur Springs. Refiners WR Treyton Pickering caught three touchdown passes from QB Lane Lerum and also hauled in a 35-yard interception for a touchdown. RB Michael Buckley scored four touchdowns on the ground for Sunburst while all of Lerum's touchdown passes went to Pickering. Standout Hornet RB Dawson Clayton did all the scoring for White Sulphur Springs as he scored on runs of 51 and 26 to go along with a 9-yard pass from Jordan Barfuss. The Scouts know they can't take the Refiners lightly as they hung with tough teams like Westby/Grenora and Valier during the season. Bridger is still the favorite as they have so many weapons and a good defense lead by linebacker Ryan Zentner (who had 14 tackles against Jordan). But Sunburst definitely has a shot at the upset. Prediction: Bridger wins 46-24.
