Playoff Bracket: http://assets.ngin.com/attachments/docu ... ket-C6.pdf

Top-side of Bracket

North Star (5-4) at Hot Springs (9-0) - 1:00 PM, Saturday, 10/29

North Star Key Players: RB Caden Rettig, WR Devon Miller, RB Dylan Miller, QB Cade Chivilcek

Hot Springs Key Players: QB Marco Degel, RB Trevor Paro, RB Kane Lawson, WR Blaine Carr

Winner of this one plays the winner of Bainville/Grass Range-Winnett. North Star comes in as the #4 seed out of 6-man North and Hot Springs comes in as the #1 seed from 6-man West. On the season, Hot Springs beat teams by an average margin of victory of 68-4. No team scored more than 12 points on them (which is very hard to do in 6-man) and no team held them to under 50 points. Their closest game was a 51-0 win over Valier (who is the #1 seed out of the 6-man North). They are a team that could compete for the 8-man title this year. They are led by the RB duo of Trevor Paro and Kane Lawson. The Savage Heat also have a good QB in Marco Degel and two solid receivers in Wyatt and Blaine Carr. In total, Hot Springs has 9 seniors on the roster (which is ridiculous for a 6-man football team) and all have good size. North Star is one of the those mid-tier teams in the 6-man playoffs. They beat the bad teams on the schedule but they lost to four playoff teams by an average of 33 points. They have four solid players in Dylan Miller, Devon Miller, Caden Rettig, and QB Cade Chivilcek but Hot Springs is on a mission and only a few teams have a shot at them in the playoffs. Prediction: Hot Springs 68-8.

Bainville (6-2) at Grass Range/Winnett (6-3) - 1:00 PM, Saturday, 10/29

Bainville Key Players: QB Trustin Holcomb, RB Brennen Brunelle, WR A.J. Lillmer, RB Dylan Rabbe

Grass Range/Winnett Key Players: RB Zane Stahl, QB Dawson Delaney, RB Caleb Hess, WR Jordan Huff

Winner of this one plays the winner of North Star/Hot Springs. Bainville comes in as the #3 seed out of 6-man East and Grass Range/Winnett comes in as the #2 seed from 6-man South. Bainville started up its football program for the first time since 1976 and made the playoffs with an impressive 6-2 season. Here is the story on the Bulldogs rebooting the program: http://www.sidneyherald.com/community/f ... 1eb02.html. They started off the year hot with big wins over Terry and Jordan but fell back to earth with a 74-26 loss to conference foe Richey/Lambert. After a win over Ekalaka, they again fell to Westby-Grenora before finishing the year up with wins over Alexander, ND and Savage. The Bulldogs can definitely put up points with QB Trustin Holcomb slinging the ball to Brennen Brunelle and A.J. Lillmer. In all of their wins this year, they scored over 60 points. However, they only scored 38 total points in their two losses meaning good teams know how to stop them. Grass Range/Winnett comes in as a team that rolled through their conference schedule with the exception of a 48-6 loss to Bridger (who easily won the conference). But again, the Rangers may be another one of those mid-tier teams as they lost to playoff teams Jordan and White Sulphur Springs as well as Bridger while beating Roy/Winifred and Custer/Hysham (who are the #3 and #4 seed out of the 6-man South conference, respectively). They have some good backs in Zane Stahl and Caleb Hess and a capable QB in Dawson Delaney. This is a toss-up game for me. Prediction: Bainville wins 38-32.

West Yellowstone (5-3) at Valier (7-1) - 1:00 PM, Saturday, 10/29

West Yellowstone Key Players: OL/DL Easton Roos, RB Colter Ross, QB Martin Grube, WR Bryce Loomis

Valier Key Players: RB Isaac Ramos, QB Colton Christiaens, RB Dylan Monroe, RB/WR Colton Wheeler

Winner of this one plays the winner of Roy-Winifred/Richey-Lambert. West Yellowstone comes in as the #4 seed out of 6-man West and Valier comes in as the #1 seed from 6-man North. As West Yellowstone entered their final three game stretch this year, they were unbeaten in 6-man West along with Hot Springs, White Sulphur Springs, and Valley Christian. All four of these teams played each other to figure out the seeds in 6-man West. West Yellowstone ended up being the only team to lose all three of those games out of the four teams. The Wolverines are led by seven upperclassmen featuring seniors Bryce Loomis (WR) and Wyatt Mann (RB) along with juniors Colter Ross (RB), Martin Grube (QB), and Easton Roos (TE). Valier had one of their best seasons in some time as they won the 6-man North (which was dominated by DGS for years). They have a good ground game with RB's Isaac Ramos & Colton Wheeler along with QB Colton Christiaens and RB Dylan Monroe. The Panthers lone loss on the year was a 51-0 decision against Hot Springs. Their closest win of the year was a 27-18 victory over Sunburst, a playoff team. They also had an impressive win over Geraldine/Highwood (who is a storied program in 6-man year to year). West Yellowstone is a decent team but Valier has a good squad. Prediction: Valier wins 46-12.

Roy/Winifred (4-4) at Richey/Lambert (6-3) - 1:00 PM, Saturday, 10/29

Roy/Winifred Key Players: RB Marcus Aicardi, QB Tyler Fordyce, WR Raymond Levick, RB Ryan Russell

Richey/Lambert Key Players: RB Seth Prevost, RB Jeff Scholla, QB Kasey Watson, WR Kelvin Hill

Winner of this one plays the winner of West Yellowstone/Valier. Roy/Winifred comes in as the #3 seed out of 6-man South and Richey/Lambert comes in as the #2 seed from 6-man East. Roy/Winifred may be the weakest team in the field despite being a #3 seed. They did not beat one playoff team, even the #4 seed out of 6-man South, Custer/Hysham. However, they destroyed the four opponents they beat. The Outlaws are led by the trio of QB Tyler Fordyce, RB Marcus Aicardi, and WR Raymond Levick. Richey/Lambert had a shot at being the #1 seed out of 6-man East going into the final week of their season but fell to the Westby/Grenora Thunder 50-12. The Fusion have a really good running back in Seth Prevost along with good players in RB Jeff Scholla and QB Kasey Watson. They can put up points in a hurry and they gave the Bridger Scouts all they could handle in the first half before the dam broke in a 61-26 loss. They have a little "Jekyll & Hyde" in them but I think they win this one easily. Prediction: Richey/Lambert wins 52-16.

Bottom-side of Bracket

Custer/Hysham (4-4) at Westby/Grenora (8-1) - 3:00 PM, Saturday, 10/29

Custer/Hysham Key Players: WR Matlock Morrison, QB Shay Adler, RB Fernando Garcia, WR Mason Best

Westby/Grenora Key Players: QB Jeremiah Paine, WR Kade Guenther, WR Daulton Holecek, RB Brian Field

Winner of this one plays the winner of Valley Christian/Geraldine-Highwood. Custer/Hysham comes in as the #4 seed out of 6-man South and Westby/Grenora comes in as the #1 seed from 6-man East. Custer/Hysham's only significant win this year was a 56-50 shootout over Roy/Winifred. Other than that, they suffered defeats to playoff teams North Star, Grass Range/Winnet, and Bridger along with Reed Point-Rapelje. Like Roy/Winifred, they are one of the weaker teams in the field. However, they have some good players in Matlock Morrison and Shay Adler. They also have three foreign exchange students who have improved throughout the year and none more than RB Fernando Garcia. The Thunder are another story. I believe they are the third best team in the 6-man playoffs this year as they were the only team to give undefeated Bridger a legitimate wire-to-wire game during the season. They fell 32-20 to the Scouts but the Thunder were playing without one of their best players in Kade Guenther. After a close first win over Sunburst in Week 2, Westby/Grenora was off to the races, rolling through their final seven games by an average margin of victory 47-13. They are led by QB Jeremiah Paine (who actually might be the best kicker in the state), RB Brian Field, WR Kade Guenther, WR Daulton Holecek, and LB Aaron Lagerquist. Custer/Hysham has some of the best size in 6-man but the Thunder are way more athletic, which is a bigger factor in the 6-man game. Like the Richey/Lambert vs. Roy/Winifred matchup, I see the 6-man East team winning this one handily. Prediction: Westby/Grenora wins 58-15.

Valley Christian (6-2) at Geraldine/Highwood (8-1) - 1:00 PM, Saturday, 10/29

Valley Christian Key Players: RB Colton Becker, TE Mason Woods, RB Jordan Kelly, QB Branson Becker

Geraldine/Highwood Key Players: RB Louis Aron, RB J.R. Spencer, QB Brady Duvall, WR Joey Hale

Winner of this one plays the winner of Custer-Hysham/Westby-Grenora. Valley Christian comes in as the #3 seed out of 6-man West and Geraldine/Highwood comes in as the #2 seed from 6-man North. Valley Christian runs most of their offense through RB Colton Becker, which makes sense as he is a great running back. The past two seasons for the Eagles, Becker has totaled 2,304 rushing yards with 39 touchdowns. Their #2 back is Jordan Kelly while their top pass catcher is Mason Woods. Valley Christian was one of the four 6-man West teams undefeated headed into the final three weeks but lost to Hot Springs 74-6 and White Sulphur Springs 66-26. They beat West Yellowstone 32-22 to secure the #3 seed in the conference. Geraldine/Highwood, the most storied and successful team in 6-man (individually and as a co-op), comes in with an 8-1 record and they returned an All-State RB in Louis Aron this season. In addition to Aron, they have another tough back in J.R. Spencer. QB Brady Duvall distributes the ball pretty evenly through the air with one of his favorite targets being Joey Hale. Overall, Coach Rodney Tweet's Rivals are a top 10 team in this playoff and their lone loss on the season was a 46-22 defeat to conference champion Valier. Valley Christian will have to figure out a way to slow down the Rivals ground attack to have a shot in this one. Prediction: Geraldine/Highwood 55-28.

Jordan (4-3) at Bridger (9-0) - 1:00 PM, Saturday, 10/29

Jordan Key Players: QB Tyrone Hageman, RB Jon Saylor, WR Kevin Murnion, WR Ed Murnion

Bridger Key Players: QB/WR Kaleb Buessing, WR/QB Colter Zentner, RB Ryan Zentner, WR Colby Zentner

Winner of this one plays the winner of Sunburst/White Sulphur Springs. Jordan comes in as the #4 seed out of 6-man East and Bridger comes in as the #1 seed from 6-man South. The Mustangs are probably the toughest #4 seed in the tournament as they come out of the toughest overall conference, the 6-man East. Hot Springs and Bridger are the top two teams but the 6-man East is the best conference top-to-bottom. Jordan is led by dual-threat QB Tyrone Hageman (who won the Class C Javelin title at State C Track & Field as a junior), two-time All-State RB Jon Saylor, and WR's Kevin & Ed Murnion. Jordan's struggles this season have come on the defensive side of the ball, giving up 84 points to Bainville, 48 to Westby/Grenora, and 72 to Terry in their three conference losses. However, they did beat a pair of good teams in Richey/Lambert and Grass Range/Winnett. The Bridger Scouts are the only other undefeated team in the field, with Hot Springs being the other. They opened the season with a hard-fought 32-20 win over Westby/Grenora before rolling through their final eight games by an average margin of victory of 60-8. Bridger is led by QB/WR Kaleb Buessing along with the brother duos of Colter(QB/WR) & Colby Zentner (RB/WR) and Ryan (RB/WR) & Russ (WR) Zentner. The pair of brothers are 3rd cousins. They are a tough team to beat as they can attack you with different athletes and different formations. The Scouts are the favorite to play Hot Springs in the championship. Prediction: Bridger wins 48-13.

Sunburst (5-3) at White Sulphur Springs (8-1) - 1:00 PM, Saturday, 10/29

Sunburst Key Players: QB Lane Lerum, WR Treyton Pickering, RB Jordan Williams, WR Mike Buckley

WSS Key Players: RB Dawson Clayton, RB Blake Ringer, QB Jordan Barfuss, RB Will Collins

Winner of this one plays the winner of Jordan/Bridger. Sunburst comes in as the #3 seed out of 6-man North and White Sulphur Springs comes in as the #2 seed from 6-man West. The Sunburst Refiners are a dangerous team as they have had several big wins or close losses against good teams. For example, in losses they gave Westby/Grenora (43-49) and Valier (18-27) tough battles and they whipped a decent North Star team 42-6. Their worst loss on the season was a 72-53 shootout against Geraldine/Highwood. They are led by QB Lane Lerum, RB Jordan Williams, and WR's Treyton Pickering & Mike Buckley. The WSS Hornets had an impressive 8-1 campaign during the regular season, beating playoff teams in North Star, Grass Range/Winnett, West Yellowstone, and Valley Christian. Two weeks ago, they came into their matchup with Hot Springs undefeated but like most teams playing the Savage Heat, they were blown out 76-12. However, the Hornets still have a very dynamic attack led by RB Dawson Clayton (who had a seven touchdown performance against St. Regis) along with QB Jordan Barfuss, RB/WR Blake Ringer, and RB/WR Will Collins. Despite the records, this game may be closer than most people think. Prediction: WSS wins 51-38.

Hot Springs and everyone else? Or does Bridger have a real shot?

Bridger AND Westby/Grenora have a real shot. They will just have to tackle really well and respond to a Hot Springs explosive play with an explosive play of their own.
