Helena loses another great sports legend

The Helena sports community just lost another great coach. "Old Man" Doug LeBrun was one of the best high school pole vaulting coaches in the country. He coached both of the current state record holders, Shannon Agee and Todd Foster. Shannon set the national girls pole vault record at 13-2 (not sure if that still stands), and was a 2-time all American for the Bobcats.

Coach LeBrun and Shannon were both just recently inducted into the Helena Sports Hall of Fame.


Retiring my moniker. It's time to ride off into the sunset. It's been a fun ride. Go Cats.

I bet he was still planning on coaching this season. Sad news.
