No ESPN on Spectrum Cable

Post by Cataholic » Thu Aug 31, 2023 10:02 pm

I was pretty surprised to see no ESPN available on cable tonight. I hope they get it figured out.

Sounds like Disney wants more money from Spectrum. Jeez, how much could it be. It seems like they don't have too much heartache about raising rates the rest of the time...what's so special about ESPN? They must really want a lot....

I don’t get ESPN. When I did I would mostly just watch games.I never liked Sportscenter. Ever since YouTube started having extended highlights I don’t watch many games live. MSU is the only exception.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

ESPN is, and has been for a long time, the most expensive service for a cable network to buy. I saw a breakdown once, and ESPN was like 20% of the total, way more than anything else.

Is there any alternative to watch GameDay? I don't see it on espn+

Hope they figure this out quickly.

Our ESPN game is September 29 I believe? So long as they get it figured out by then, that's all that matters to me.

Just got this text from Spectrum:

Spectrum: Since Disney has removed their channels, we would like to offer you a FREE trial from our preferred streaming TV partner, Fubo. Visit fubotv.com/offer

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Thanks, I also got that message this morning. That makes me think the dispute is not liked to be resolved anytime soon. I'll have to check that out.

Fubo makes a great workaround. Take the free offer and enjoy the game. 💙 💛 😺

Would the free trial work for all the streamers? Let's say a different one each week.

Depends on 1). Do they have ESPN? 2). Do they have free trials? If those are both true, then it should work. Or swap your Spectrum for YouTubeTV and worry no longer. Or strong-arm the grandkids for a nice six-month gift subscription to ESPN+ each year. Good luck.

Funny how they got it resolved right before Monday Night Football week 1...
