I actually think that it was the most watched FCS championship ever, at least I thought I read that somewhere... Which is super surprising given it was on a 9am PST.

Yep. Zero effort from ESPN. I wonder what the numbers would be if they had all or most of the playoff games on ESPN or ESPN2 and had the championship game on Friday night or Sat. evening.

All of the bowl games, along with the FCS playoff and championship games, were merely opportunities for ESPN to pimp the BCS championship series.
