EWU WRs at Combine
We all figured Eastern Washington's Cooper Kupp was going to get invited to the Combine, but it was announced that his fellow WR Kendrick Bourne will be joining him in Indianapolis.

I will say neither of them makes an NFL roster, makes sure to hold that over my head if one of them does.

If he sticks (he wont) it will be special teams or safety.

How many years of him playing WR do I need for you to lose this bet? Cause I want in on this action.AlphaGriz1 wrote:tdub wrote:Seriously...What will he play then? Returner only? (a-la Mariani)AlphaGriz1 wrote:He won't play WR in the NFL

If you say yes and lose (which you already have). You'd just owe me 3 buckets. Not my fault you are an alcohol pusher and won't let me pay.AlphaGriz1 wrote:So if I say yes and lose we will be even?

He says he won't be a wr, so I'd say if he gets drafted at wr, has wr by his name on the scout team. It counts lol.

Cooper Kupp's secon 40-Yard Dash comes in at 4.66 after a 4.62 on his first go. #EWU
Pretty slow times for Kupp today.

If so I am seriously disappointed in the speed of the big sky.
Although to be fair a lot of his getting open was great routes and moves, not pure speed.

I think that is what made Fred Belitnikoff such a great receiver. And the stickum of course from what I can remember...BigBruceBaker wrote:Is that what he normally runs?wbtfg wrote:Cooper Kupp's secon 40-Yard Dash comes in at 4.66 after a 4.62 on his first go. #EWU

Re: EWU WRs at Combine
Steve Largent ran a 4.6 to 4.7 fourty. Five Foot eleven inches, 190 pounds. Drafted in the 4th round in 1976 by the Oilers, then waived, recalled and traded to Seattle for an 8th round pick. The scouting tag was that he was too small and too slow. 14 years later the HALL of FAME wide receiver retired, as the NFL's all time #1 pass catcher.
Baring a catastrophic injury I believe Cooper Kupp will most certainly become a wide receiver in the NFL. i suppose alpha-go-scats is banking on the injury side of his wager, as kupp has all the tools to make a mark in the NFL.

Re: EWU WRs at Combine
Almost a half second slower than John Ross. A quarter second slower than the top TE prospects. But Kupp was never fast. He's got great hands, runs great routes, and has grown into decent size. By all accounts he is super coachable and he's a great downfield blocker. He's never going to be a deep threat in the NFL, and probably not a starter. but he's going to get drafted and is probably going to be a great #3 or #4 option.91catAlum wrote:"Rice, for the record, ran the dash in 4.59 seconds, according to the late Bill Walsh. Re: EWU WRs at Combine
Kupp had the 5th fastest shuttle time among wideouts though, tied with John Ross and his route running wowed everyone. Steve Smith said of Kupp, "This is my top guy. There isn't a route he can't run." Pretty high praise. His quickness and route running will land him in the 2nd round I'd think. Late 1st if teams move around the right way.
