FCS championship was 34th... Wow. I haven't even heard of a few of the bowl games above it.

It's not a bad draw when you think about it. They don't advertise it at all, they put it on ESPN 2 even though nothing meaningful was on ESPN. It's on the Saturday after almost all bowl games are done, and its on really early in the morning. So I'd say not a bad draw for everything that they put against it.

I also think they'd get better ratings if the championship game was played before the holidays. That's one of the reasons I was opposed to expanding the field beyond 16 teams, because I don't like having to delay the championship game beyond the 1st of the year. It's interesting that the quarters outdrew the semis and the title game.

And it goes to show that making it into the quarter finals in the FCS still draws more attention than the FBS spud bowl.
